Group and custom Sessions

Your Headshot Photography Session

When you book your headshot photography session, take a moment to consider the message you want your portrait to convey. Whether it's a tool for marketing yourself professionally or refreshing your online dating profile, a well-crafted headshot can make a significant impact. If your aim is to advance professionally, a formal headshot in business attire will communicate your commitment and professionalism effectively.

Our skilled photographers are here to guide you in creating the perfect image. Lighting and color play a crucial role in bringing out your best features, and we'll work to enhance your image, giving you the confidence to make a strong, positive impression.

To prepare for your session, ensure you eat well and stay hydrated—this helps your skin look smooth and healthy. While we can edit out imperfections, consider whether you prefer a polished or more natural look.

Arrive well-rested and carefully select your clothing to feel confident during your shoot. Solid, dark-colored clothing generally works best, as it draws attention to your face. Bring a few outfit options, and your photographer will help you choose the most flattering look. If possible, get a haircut a couple of weeks before the session to keep it looking natural.

Our photographers are dedicated to making you feel comfortable. We can play soothing music to help you relax, or you can bring your own playlist. This relaxed atmosphere allows your true self to shine through in your photos. Come with ideas, but be open to collaboration—sometimes, the best shots come from the spontaneous interaction between you and the photographer. With multiple shots to choose from, you'll find the one that best captures your spirit and the image you want to present.

Remember, this is your moment. By choosing the right photographer, you'll get a headshot that represents the best version of you—an image you can cherish forever.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

Where Do We Shoot Your Headshot Photos?

We typically prefer to photograph your headshot in a located Phoenix Metropolitan studio, where we have full control over lighting and atmosphere to create your most polished and professional look.

However, we often also shoot on location—whether at your office, a local venue, or a professional rental studio in the area. While these locations can add unique stylistic elements to your photos, they may also increase the time and cost involved.

Location shoots are often a cost-effective option for larger offices or executives needing headshots during business trips, conferences, or group sessions.

If you have a group or specific requirements, please contact us to discuss your needs, as these can vary significantly from client to client.

How long does my headshot take?

Our most popular option, the Premier Headshot Package, is scheduled for around 2 hours in the studio.

The Premium Headshot Package extends to approximately 3 hours.

For location shoots, plan for an additional 30 minutes for setup and 15 minutes for breakdown. The time spent photographing each individual will vary based on your specific goals and deliverables.

Who is on the photo set during my headshot portrait sitting?

In the studio, it’s typically just you and the photographer during your headshot session. There may also be a photographer’s assistant or stylists on hand for makeup, hair, or wardrobe.

For location shoots, it’s more common to have an assistant present as well.

We generally prefer that your session is conducted in private, with any guests waiting in a designated area. Friends, family, and coworkers can sometimes be distracting, and a focused environment helps ensure the best results for your headshot.

What is a reasonable amount to invest in my headshot?

Remember, your choice of photographer is the most important factor in how your headshot will turn out.

However, this decision is highly subjective.

If you work at a local convenience store, a budget-friendly headshot might suit your needs—and you may be perfectly happy with it.

But if you hold a position of responsibility at a larger firm or want to make the strongest possible first impression, it’s wise to invest accordingly.

Not everyone can afford a Ferrari, but when one drives by, everyone notices.

The same goes for your headshot.

To achieve the best possible headshot, be prepared to invest both time and resources with a professional skilled in the craft and art of headshot photography.

You’ll get out of your headshot what you put into it.

For many, a headshot is the first—and sometimes the last—impression others will have of you.

The value of that is deeply personal.

In a world where we make snap judgments based on fleeting glances at countless images, looking your best in your headshot is an investment that pays dividends in all areas of your personal, private, and public life.

What should I wear to my headshot sitting?

**Wardrobe Tips for Your Headshot Session**

When selecting outerwear for your headshot session, choose pieces that are a few shades darker than your skin tone and avoid black. Bringing several options is a smart move, as you and your photographer can collaborate to find the best combinations with your other wardrobe items.

Outerwear is crucial because it frames your face, so it’s important to choose pieces that don’t distract from your features. Avoid bright colors or bold patterns. A subtle texture, like knits, can add a nice touch. Be sure to bring a few options to choose from.

For your shirt or blouse, select a flattering neckline. Men should ensure a proper fit, while women should choose a décolletage that complements their shape. Turtle necks are generally not recommended, unless you’re aiming for a high-fashion look, which is usually not suitable for business headshots.

The shirt should also be in a color or pattern that doesn’t draw attention away from your face. Simple is usually best. However, if only a small part of your shirt is visible under your outerwear, you can add a touch more color. Even then, understated is usually the safest choice.

Ties and scarves offer a chance to express a bit more personality. Bring several options so you can mix and match with your outfit. Ladies, in a pinch, scarves can even be draped to create a blouse-like effect under your outerwear, so bring a few if you have some that you love.

Since headshots focus on the bust up, what you wear below the waist isn’t as important and won’t be visible. Prioritize comfort, and wear shoes that allow you to stand or sit comfortably and well-balanced.

**Does It Fit?**

It’s important to ensure your wardrobe fits well. Many people bring items they haven’t worn in years. If something is too big, we can sometimes use clothes pins or other tricks to adjust it. However, if an item is too small, it can be more challenging to work with. Make sure your clothing fits, is in good condition, and is either freshly pressed or hangs well.
